Moving towards the back of the car
again - this is the hole that the loom needs to pass through.
You'll also see the grounding point you'll need to use. |
|
The aerial connector from the
retrofit loom needs to be connected to the aerial booster. This
is behind the c pillar trim. Remove the old aerial connection, and tape it
down. away from the booster.
The GPS antenna needs to be secured under the parcel shelf. The
one I used wasn't a BMW part and as such didn't clip into the
OEM mounting point. The BMW antenna clips onto a mounting point
about halfway across the parcel shelf. The cable needs to be
routed back into the boot. |
|
The navigation computer, and BM54
radio tuner, should then be plugged into the loom in the boot. The
cable from the GPS antenna should also be plugged into the
navigation computer. They can then be fixed to the CD changer
mounting bracket.
Once you're happy everything is plugged together, stick the
passenger seat back in. Once that's plugged back in, its safe to
connect the battery back up and see if the system is working. If
the system doesn't working, recheck all wiring. Otherwise you
should see the screen on the right.
The final step is to simply replace all the trim you have
removed and enjoy your install!
